The Singapore Heart Foundation is celebrating 50 years of caring for the heart this year. Established by a group of 13 cardiologists and philanthropists in 1970 as the Singapore National Heart Association (SNHA), the Association's primary role was to educate the public about heart disease and the related risk factors. This was achieved against the history of a high rate of deaths due to coronary heart disease.
